Project Description

For Georges Duboeuf’s 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau uncorking at District 36 nightclub (now Sankey’s) in New York City, KingSize USA wanted to create an authentic circus atmosphere, complete with aerial silk performers, to capture the circus-like spirit of the traditional annual Beaujolais Nouveau uncorking in Beaujolais, France. Nouveau Cirque Celebration

The wine’s dramatic high wire arrival was part of Georges Duboeuf‘s nationwide Nouveau Cirque celebration, featuring circus theme parties with jugglers, acrobats and other artistic performances. According to French law, Beaujolais Nouveau is released at one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of November. This decades-old tradition is celebrated worldwide with creative events, heralding the wine’s arrival. Beaujolais Nouveau is made from hand-harvested Gamay grapes and bottled six weeks after harvest. Georges Duboeuf, the number one French wine brand in the U.S., is known for throwing the largest and most creative Nouveau celebrations, and this year was no exception. Check out some footage from Nouveau Cirque, the uncorking of Georges Duboeuf’s 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau!
